you see when they pat you on the shoulder - people you hardly know!!! - and say HI, haven't seen you lately! 
I raise my eyebrows inside - outwardly smiling as friendly as i can.......

they treat me like an undergraduate until i open my mouth. I hate opening it already. They STARE at me immediately - the whole group and i feel the tension *____* I am loud and authoritative....BUT THAT WAS VIRGINIA!!! all that 'i know her better' comes into play aand i can't help it!
